When proposing should you have a short speech before you ask or should you just ask?

Where am I?

In The Union by Kay Jewelers you can ask and answer questions and share your experience with others!

When you propose to your significant other, aka "your better half" this will depend on who they are and how they respond to you. Four to five sentences proclaiming your love for them with sincerity, will do wonders for a partner who loves to be involved with you. Short and sweet, but straight to the point is perfect for those who are usually distant or like direct answers.

Does your partner see a confession of love as embarrassing? Yes? Then Straight to the point.

Does your partner revel in the amount of attention you give them? Yes? Then proclaiming your love will do.
