Robin M. Root Kay Consultant862 Store Manager - Reading, PA
My name is Robin Root and I am the Store Manager of Kay Jewelers, in Reading, PA, where Kay's all began. I am celebrating 15 years, with Signet! I love helping my guests Celebrate Life and Express Love. My favorite part of the day is delivering exceptional customer service. I personally enjoy starting my "forever" relationships with guests while they are engagement ring shopping, allowing me the pleasure of being their "personal, forever shopper." The Leo Diamond, Neil Lane, and Now & Forever are my favorite in store selections. We do have special events at our stores as well, and Dana Augustine and LeVian events are definitely events that you certainly don't want to miss!!

We pulled it off!! I handed it off to the soon to be sister in law for pick up and we headed into the end zone for the delivery!!
They had scheduled a beach getaway for the two of them, and I knew it was going to happen!! They took a walk along the beach while the sun was setting, and bam....he got down on his knee and popped the question! My team and I have a group chat, and we all woke up to the picture of the beautiful yellow gold custom ring with a ruby center stone on her finger with simply, "I said YES!!"
They haven't set a date yet, but I couldn't be happier as they start their forever together....I love happy endings!!
Well, first hand knowledge is that everyone in my store knows that one of us is about to get the question “popped” but she has no clue. We are all succeeding in this by getting this all put together on her days off, and working together with her boyfriend in order to get the perfect ring for his perfect girl.
I can’t wait to show pictures of them once the big question is popped....more to come, time unknown....but I know!
Consider a time line in which you both would like to establish, maybe in the marriage discussion, a time line of sorts in order to complete your “pre-search,” your maximum budget and how you are going to pay or finance it, what styles of engagements rings you both like, time aside to look and try on different styles, when will you be making the purchase, and finally how will you be proposing? That time line could assist you to staying on track to get to that final proposal point.
I personally am a “lister,” meaning I place everything on a list to keep myself on track and to ensure that I am not missing any aspects, features and benefits to compare items, maybe sales to consider when making larger purchases.
What else would you consider when getting started in your journey? How long and how much research did you do prior to proposing?
