Robin M. Root Kay Consultant294 Store Manager - Reading, PA
My name is Robin Root and I am the Store Manager of Kay Jewelers, in Reading, PA, where Kay's all began. I am celebrating 14 years, with Signet! I love helping my guests Celebrate Life and Express Love. My favorite part of the day is delivering exceptional customer service. I personally enjoy starting my "forever" relationships with guests while they are engagement ring shopping, allowing me the pleasure of being their "personal, forever shopper." The Leo Diamond, Neil Lane, and Now & Forever are my favorite in store selections. We do have special events at our stores as well, and Dana Augustine and LeVian events are definitely events that you certainly don't want to miss!!

The jumbo screen has been a "fan" favorite for a lot of people to pop the question, so who has done this? Would love to see pictures of those who have gotten engaged at a sporting event, sounds like this would be a great idea and story to share.
What is the "normal" amount that most people spend? This is by far the number one question that I am asked while assisting guests. My response is always, we have a wide variety of payment options here at Kay's, but where are you comfortable at? Yes, I totally turned the question back on the guest, because you know your budget and ultimately what you are most comfortable with.
Saving/budgeting for a ring used to be thought of as three months salary, and yes some do keep to that...but ultimately we are all here for YOU!
What have you done to prepare yourself for purchasing an engagement ring or wedding bands? Any insight from our members would be great, as we are all in this together, celebrating one another!
Please share your ideas for this Holiday Season, or better yet, pictures of your engagement from this Holiday! Let’s all celebrate together, as well are all in this together!! Have a wonderful Holiday everyone, and Happy New Year’s!
At Kay Jewelers, or any of our affiliates, we an write up a Certificate of Appraisal for your merchandise to forward off to your insurance company, for insurance purposes. Depending upon your Renter or Home Owner Insurance companies, they might require a more detailed “listing” other then just a sales receipt, which again, we can provide you, upon request in store.
This tidbit of information, is a great piece of advice, for larger purchases to reassure you, and give you that peace of mind if that “worst case scenario” were to ever occur, you are fully covered.
Anyone else care to share a super romantic, seasonally appropriate Holiday proposal??
Whether you are in the beginning stages of looking for a ring, or are actively looking, NOW is the best time to consider purchasing an engagement ring or wedding bands. The frequency that our stores have amazing saving events is definitely now, to either stretch the budget or to simply tuck away for your future engagement/wedding. What are your thoughts in regards to purchasing a ring 6 months to year out from when you plan to propose, or are you more of a spur of the moment purchaser, because you're like me and can’t hold on a secret to save yourself!
Whichever you feel is right for you and your significant other, do what is best for you! As a Manager with our company, but also as a consumer, I love passing along this tidbit!
What, if anything did you do differently because of the Pandemic? Did you push off your engagement, maybe your wedding...or did you just throw caution to the wind and “let the show go on” with minor alterations.
We were invited to three different weddings this year and for quite awhile it was touch and go for them, with one eventually being postponed until next year and the other two were definitely modified to the current restrictions.
Let us know that “Love isn’t Cancelled” and show us pictures from your engagement, or pictures of your big day! Congratulations to ALL the engaged, and newly wedded couples of 2020, you faced adversity on all fronts with the Pandemic and let your love shine!
How would you incorporate your soon to be fiancé or fiancees’ children into the proposal, and then wedding day?
For the proposal, maybe ask the kids for their permission, and maybe have them be there to capture the moment. Then for the wedding day, with rings being exchanged, you could share a personalized piece of jewelry for the children, if possible, to establish everyone together as a “family.”
With so many modern day Brady Bunch families, what worked best for you and your family, or what recommendations would you have for those looking to propose with children involved? Would love to see some comments below!
